Painting from Life
The Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters First Show
For a week in late August, forty-five invited
artists from ten different states painted plein air (on-location) within
Estes Park, Big Thompson Canyon, and the Rocky Mountain National Park
areas of Colorado. Loch Vale Fine Art of Estes Park hosted the
event. Artists began arriving on Friday, August 23rd, and an artists
reception was held Saturday, August 24thth. The event was officially
plein air with artist's canvases being stamped on the back to verify that
no previous work was done. 175 paintings were entered into the
event. The shows' reception was Saturday, August 31srt, and the paintings were on
display the month of September. Thanks to all the artists, art
enthusiasts, and patrons that made this event possible.
