Painting From Life

     Twenty-five artists participated in the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters (R.M.P.A.P.) Signature Members and Invited Guests event held in Tucson, AZ.  Artists began plein air (on location)  painting from the Tucson area beginning February 1st.  On Thursday, February 17, the participants of the show were invited to paint at Babocomari Ranch located outside of Tombstone, AZ.  Babocomari Ranch is a private 35,000 acre working cattle ranch.  The Hollywood movies Tombstone and Red River were filmed at this location.  Artists were treated to a catered Italian lunch at the ranch.  On Friday, February 18th, artists painted at the La Mariposa Resort.  Many collector's and art appreciators visited La Mariposa to watch the artists paint.  On Saturday, February 19th, 75 paintings from Tucson, the Babocamori Ranch, and the La Mariposa Resort went on exhibition.  Later that evening, an artist and patron dinner was served at the resort.  The R.M.P.A.P. thanks all who made this event possible.  Congratulations to:  W. Jason Situ, Carol Swinney, and Karen Vance for their recognitions at the show.
